Rush Ranch at Tres Piedras

Tres Piedras, NM is located 27 miles northwest of Taos,NM at the entrance to the Carson National Forest. This lumbering and ranching community was settled in 1879 and was named for three large granite formations to the west. The rocks were a favorite hunting ground of the Tewa Indians, whose name for the site means "mountain sheep rock place" and in Spanish "three rocks". The Rush Ranch is located one mile north of Tres Piedras off Hwy 285.
This expansive property encompasses 433 deeded acres covered with pine, aspen and pinon trees plus an additional 55 acres of forest service lease. Structures on site include an older house, two cabins, barn and corrals. The fenced parcel is surrounded on three sides by Carson National Forest and is served by a live running spring/stream feeding a large tank.
